I Built the Most BIZZARE SEO Conference. Here’s What Happened…

By | April 12, 2023

In the world of SEO conferences, there’s never a shortage of speakers, attendees, and industry experts offering their insights and advice. But what happens when you take a wildly unconventional approach to the typical conference model? That’s exactly what I did when I built the most bizarre SEO conference. With a mix of unexpected themes, unconventional presentations, and offbeat networking opportunities, this conference promised to turn the standard model of SEO conferences on its head. In this blog post, I’ll share what went down, how attendees reacted, and what we all learned from this truly unique experience.

I Built the Most BIZZARE SEO Conference. Here’s What Happened…

Introduction

If you’re an SEO expert or enthusiast, you must have heard about the Chiang Mai SEO conference. Every year, the conference attracts SEO professionals worldwide, who come together to share knowledge, network, and learn from some of the top experts in the industry. I also built an SEO conference, but mine was a little… different.

The Birth of the Bizarre Conference

It all started as a joke. I was having a conversation with some SEO friends, and we were discussing the usual things, like ranking factors, keyword research, and link building. Out of nowhere, I said, “What if we built an SEO conference where everyone had to dress up as animals?” At first, we all laughed it off, but the more we talked about it, the more excited we became.

Fast forward a few months, and we were putting the finishing touches on the Bizarre Conference. The idea was simple: we would bring together SEO experts from around the world, and everyone would have to dress up as an animal. We also added some bizarre twists, like a session where we would blindfold the speakers, and they would have to guess the question based on the audience’s facial expressions.

The Conference Experience

The venue was located in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and we had attendees from all over the world. Walking into the conference hall, you would see people dressed up as pandas, lions, kangaroos, and even snakes. The energy was electric, and everyone was excited to see what was in store.

The format and structure of the conference were discussed in the video we shared on YouTube. We wanted to keep things as fun and engaging as possible, so we had sessions like “SEO in the Wild” where we would take attendees on a safari to observe how animals adapted to their environments and correlate the same to the latest SEO trends. We would then apply the learnings to our website optimization techniques.

The Speakers and Vendors

The speakers at the conference were experts in the SEO field. Our keynote speaker was Rand Fishkin, who talked about the future of SEO and how AI will transform the search engine landscape in the coming years. We also had other notable speakers, such as Brian Dean, Annie Cushing, and Neil Patel, among others.

Our vendors had to fit in our bizarre theme as well. Someone was selling a booster that mimics deer’ antlers to increase the click-through-rates on your ads, and the shirts featured monkey waving a wrench, which according to them would give your networking an edge.

The Networking Opportunities

The conference offered a chance for vendors to showcase their products and services, connect with existing customers, and meet potential new clients. It was a great opportunity for attendees to expand their knowledge and skills while at the same time, enjoying the company of like-minded individuals.

The Free SEO Business Scaling Guide

As a bonus, the conference offered a free SEO Business Scaling Guide for attendees. This guide provided step-by-step advice on how to scale an SEO business and take it to the next level. We wanted to help attendees who were struggling with growing their business by providing them with practical tips and tricks to overcome the obstacles.

FAQ’s

Q1: Is the Bizarre Conference an annual event?

At the moment, we don’t have any concrete plans for future conferences. It was a one-time event, but we never say never.

Q2: Did attendees take the animal-themed dress code seriously?

Absolutely! We were blown away by how committed everyone was to the theme. Some attendees came in elaborate costumes that must have taken them weeks to put together.

Q3: Can I still get a copy of the SEO Business Scaling Guide?

Unfortunately, the guide was only available to attendees of the Bizarre Conference. However, we do plan to release a similar guide in the future.

Q4: Were there any wildlife safety concerns during the safari session?

No, not at all. We made sure to follow all safety protocols and regulations. We also had experienced guides who ensured everyone’s safety during the safari.
